Sunraysia Residential Services Inc. (SRS) aged care participants have delivered a glowing endorsement of the organisation’s services during this week’s Quality and Consumer Advocacy Group meeting.
Held twice yearly, the meeting brings together participants, their families and SRS staff to discuss service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement and explore ideas for future programs, activities and outings.
Ten participants attended the session, highlighting the high level of care and dedication shown by SRS staff.
Attendees also praised the weekly Connect Program, which focuses on building social connections, with participants actively leading group activities.
SRS Safeguarding Manager Sara Avery thanked participants for their valuable feedback and engagement.
“These catch-ups are always a great chance to touch base and hear directly from the people who are receiving our services,” Ms Avery said.
“Our participants’ health, safety and wellbeing are at the heart of what we do, so to receive such positive feedback is a fantastic outcome and something our team takes great pride in.
“In particular, it was wonderful to hear how much participants value the Connect program – enjoying meaningful social connections while getting out and about in the community.”
SRS Aged Care services are designed to support older people to maintain independence and quality of life under the Commonwealth’s Support at Home Program.
Services include:
- Social and community access
- Domestic assistance, cleaning, meal preparation and personal care
- Medication assistance
- Transport and social support
- Gardening, home maintenance, and modifications
- Short-term respite and long-term accommodation
- Equipment and assistive technology
The meeting also provided an opportunity to update participants on recent changes to the Support at Home Program, introduced by the Commonwealth Government in November 2025.
“This was our first opportunity to hear how participants are adapting to the new program and address any concerns,” Ms Avery said.
“We also shared positive upcoming changes, including the removal of co-contribution payments for Personal Care services. From October 1, participants will no longer need to pay extra for this support — a significant win for our community.”
