Sun, fun and good times were the order of the day this past weekend, as hundreds of locals and visitors turned out for Benetook Farm’s annual Easter Market Day.
One of several market days held throughout the year, visitors had the chance to experience everything that makes the Farm special, while also enjoying extra Easter cheer.
Highlights included the chance to enter an Easter Egg Hunt and raffle, get a photo with the Easter Bunny, take part in a photo competition with ‘Benedict the Egg’, enjoy pony rides, face painting, while engaging with dozens of stallholders showcasing local products.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better day, with the sun shining and plenty of people making the trip into the Farm to enjoy festivities,” Benetook Farm General Store Coordinator Tegan Pyke said.
“Our Market Days form part of our Community Outreach Program, with the aim to engage Sunraysia Residential Services Inc. participants in the broader community, while showcasing everything the Farm has to offer.
“It’s also about providing a community space for our participants, who create and make items during their time with us, a chance to sell these items and have a purpose for making them, while seeing that work spread joy to the wider community.”
Several SRS participants took the opportunity to display their art and interests as part of the event, with everything from paintings, to puzzles and everything in between on display.
The Benetook Farm playground and pump track also proved a hit with visiting families, as did the General Store and cafe, which were a hive of activity throughout the morning.
Benetook Farms is an SRS social enterprise that provides meaningful training and support for people with disabilities while creating a community space for everyone to enjoy.
