A Social Enterprise hatched from EGGS
Benetook Farm is a thriving and developing farm designed to encourage opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy, learn, socialise and while incidental learning occurs during activities including layer hen production; marketing and sales; horticultural and viticultural, woodwork and art; song and dance; cooking and entertaining.
Training & Educational Programs – TEP
Participants at SRS can enjoy a diverse range of activities that are set up to engage and cater for people with a variety of abilities. We encourage social skills and friendships, learning new skills, developing self-confidence and having fun. Our TEP encourage the development of life skills, techniques in marketing, sales, gardening, mechanics, horticulture, viticulture, Arts and crafts and furniture restoration and recycling.
We have qualified, enthusiastic Active Support Assistants (ASA) that possess a passion to share their skills and knowledge. Benetook participants make their choice to keep, sell and or display their achievement to the general community via exhibitions, social media and at Benetook Farm.
Egg production
From the nest to the sale fridge the egg sale production line has stages that promote incidental learning with tangible outcomes including heaps of fun.
The feeding and caring for the layer hens and pets at the farm provides an outdoor and active TEP
Sponsor a Chook
Love the idea of raising chooks but don’t have a yard? Benetook Farm has a new fundraiser called ‘Sponsor a Chook’, with you in mind. Sponsor one of our chooks and you won’t have to deal with her pecking, digging or fertilising in your backyard.
Pick your chook number and make a donation of $35. Give your chook a name and we’ll give you a sponsorship certificate.
